Scallop Edge Cardigan (DONE!)

Posted January 30th, 2011 in crafts, folio and tagged , by Mitsy

Drumroll, please. My first completed sweater! Ta-DA! (Now I can have the courage and confidence to finish the other three in my knitting basket).

I think I’ve gained insight into why ladies who crochet sometimes go overboard with embellishments. I found it very satisfying to make those yarn yo-yo’s. Why not add another one… and another one? Luckily, I found some self-restraint after fancying up one side of the cardigan with little flowers and red buttons we dug up from Molly Ann’s collection. And I think it’s just the right amount of glam!

Here’s a close-up of my embellishment sculpture of yarn and buttons. The inspiration came from the closure button on the far right. It’s such a beautiful button— edged with gold. The red enamel catches the light like shiny nail polish.

Can’t wait to take a picture of a little person in it. My daughter Leena Maple!
