After Sonya woke up from her nap today, we did some make-believe play. As usual, she was Princess Sonya Belle the Dragon Huntress. Meanwhile, I took turns being her lady-in-waiting, her trusty horse, and even a fearsome dragon she fought off with a blunt knitting needle.

Only too late did I realize what a dangerous weapon had been put into her capable hands. Yikes! Hard for a 31 week pregnant mama dragon to fend off such a brave princess. My knees and back are definitely sore from evading her deadly jabs. In the end, Princess Sonya Belle the Dragon Huntress defeated me and won my dragon hoard of chocolate chip cookies.

Perfect timing. We went to the kitchen for cookies and milk then segued into making dinner. For Christmas, Sonya got this amazing wooden French Kitchen from her godparents Uncle Justin and Auntie Melissa.

Princess Sonya Belle the Dragon Huntress decided to wear her stylish polka dot ruffle apron over her yellow gown.

She liberally seasoned her carrot and mushroom stew with pepper.

Then she firmly put the lid on her stockpot so the stew could simmer.

A little while later, it was time for the big reveal.

As it turns out, Princess Sonya Belle is not only a great Dragon Huntress…

… but also a wicked chef.
